Marshall McLuhan Link Farm

Marshall McLuhan (1911-1980) was one of the most brilliant thinkers of the 20th century. He pioneered the study of media, and warned us about the televised, computerized, famous for 15 minutes world where we live in each other's faces, read each other's mail, and become so alike, so isolated, so anonymous that violence becomes a scream for identity.
There has been a notable resurgence of interest in McLuhan's work in the last few years, fueled by the recent and continuing conjunctions between the cable companies and the regional phone companies, the appearance of magazines such as Wired, and the development of new media models and information ecologies.
